You said that there were Dunns in Rockingham Co., VA from 1763 till abt 1784. Do you know where they came from? Albemarle Co., Augusta Co.? Do you have a list of their names? I, too, have a Dunn in Rockingham Co., serving in Capt. Beaselys unit with John & Christian Peters in RW. This John Dunn then went to Monroe Co., (W)V in 1782 with others from this area. John Dunn married Mary Peters, the sister of Christian Peters. I have always felt he came from Albemarle Co., Va and was the son of or was related to John & Anna Marion Martin Dunn of Orange Co., then removed to Albemarle Co., VA and served in RW there. I know that some Dunns may have gone to Fayette Co., Ky., ie William Dunn who married Mary Bledsoe in Albemarle Co., VA son of John and Anna Dunn of Albemarle Co., VA.
