Jeremiah died 24 Oct 1779. Jeremiah was supposedly a Captain in the New Jersey Express Riders and was wounded in the battle of Monmouth, NJ on June 28, 1778. Jeremiah died while home on leave, possibly recovering from his wounds. He may have also been in the Battle of Bunker Hill and in a number of subsequent battles. Jeremiah and Sarah had four daughters and one son: Esther, b. 1771, Sarah, b. 1773, Decamp, b. 1774 and twin girls Ann (Nancy) and Elizabeth b. 1776. Significant further descent is known for Nancy, who m. William Ross, 7/7/1796, in Westfield, NJ (posted on the Sangamon Co., IL, GenWeb site, http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilsangam/1876/rossn.htm). Marriages are also known for Esther (Hayden) and Elizabeth (Bedell).
