I am researching the Ancestors of Robert Fogle (b: April 15, 1875). According to Robert Fogle's Death Certificate, his parents were Roman Fogle Dunn and Carrie Fogle. It seems that Roman Dunn was born in Germany around 1845, but living with a William Dnnn on the 1850 U.S. Census for Holidaysburg, Blair County, Pa. William's wife was Leanna (1850) and Magdalena (1860). It is assumed that The two wives are the same person for Lena or Leanna could be a shortening of the name Magdalena. William and Leanna had the follow children: Joseph, Susan, James, Rhuman (Romain in 1860), Robert (Robert Fogle in 1860), Lucretia, William, John, Thomas, Andrew, Martha, Mary, Ellen, Bertha. In 1870 William had a domestic named Mary Novelar (age 19) living with him. The 1870 Census for Reedsville, Mifflin County, Pa. showed a Roman B. Dunn, age 23, with wife Carrie I. (age 26). Roman was listed as "Ax Factory" (employee). They had 1 child living with them: Emily C. (age 1). Reedsville is where our Robert Fogle claimed to have been born. Roman Dunn was found in Altoona, Pa. in the 1880 Census. He had a wife named Carrie and the following children: Emma (age 11), William (age 9), John (age 7), Robert (age 5), Jacob (age 3) and Carrie (age 2 months). Another Dunn? Upon searching the Allegheny County Marriage Records (up to 1926), the only Roseila Hoffman listed is one who married a Leo G. Dunn. If memory serves, there was a question as to whether the Middle Initial of this man was a G. or a J. According to an Obituary from a 1932 Newspaper, it cited that our Mary Hoffman had a daugher who married a Gilbert Dunn. It is suspected that Leo G. Dunn may have been Gilbert. Rose and "Joe" Dunn had two daughters, both older than Dad. It is unknown if there were any other children. The Estimated birth of the daughters was ca. 1920, plus or minus.
