Author: Sjdpaulspride Surnames: Dunn Black Byous Longley Cash Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dunn/6522.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: What I have ( and I really am just beginning so its not much!!) is a verbal account from my husbands grandmother Florence Thelma Longley Cash Her mother was Sarah Pearl Byous married to George Galley Longley married 17th February 1929 Shepherd TN Sarah's mother was Dorcas (Black)or( Dunn) married to Floyd Byous I use both last names as Mammaw remembers the last name Black and that Dorcas was the illegetimate child of an indian woman whose name had "something to do with states like California or Texas" who was not permitted to marry the father,( who was possibly part indian as well) but named her daughter after him anyways. Record show Dorcas as being Dorcas Dunn 1/5/1884-8/25/1930 married to Floyd Byous. Maybe the mothers last name was Black and the father's Dunn, or I suppose the mother's name could have been Dunn, and she just referred to her daughter as Dorcas Black in reference to the father.
