The earliest ancestor of this line, J Allen Dunn, b.1802 (VA or KY) married Catherine Lafever b.1805 KY of Pulaski, KY. His first two children were born in KY. By 1840 however, the family had moved to White Co.TN where he worked at his Father-in-law's pottery making business. By the 1870's two of his sons, including the eldest, John R Dunn b.1825 KY, had relocated to the Logan/Christian/Todd area of KY. While there, they also made salt glazed, utility pottery. I have never known the reason for this move, but there are several Dunn families in that area. I have speculated perhaps that some of them might be his Father's relatives. J Allen Dunn has eluded many years of attempts at determining his familial connections. The only evidence I have been able to find that he even existed, is the 1840 and 1850 White Co., TN census. If this prompts even a vague recollection for anyone researching the Dunn's, please let me know. I'm sorely needing a new angle. Thank you for your consideration, ~Lyn Dunn Milam Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
