Yes, her parents were born in Ireland. I do not know where. I do know they came to NY and that is where Nellie was born. Somehow she came to be living with Margaret and William Durfee who are from Oshkosh. The Durfees have a family plot where William is buried and 2 of the children who died in 1903 of Typhoid Fever, along with prior generations of Durfees. Margaret(??) Durfee was also born in NY. In all the family trees I have seen for the Durfees, and they have researched extensively, no one seems to know Margaret's maiden name. My hunch is that she might be a Desmond or a Bennett, and that is how Nellie and my grandmother, Margaret, came to be living with them in Prentice, WI in 1900.
