I know this is a reply to a very old thread so I'm sure you've probably sorted things out by now. I have some letters from the 1940's from a Mary M. Starritt (of Richmond, VA) to my grandfather. They were corresponding about Dunn genealogy. Should I assume this Mary Starrit is connected to you? I'd be happy to send you scans of the letters.
