I need to get away from keyboard and into paper archives for a change of pace. Also, we are dial-up, and a.com comes in so slow, I use the library computer. So contact me at my wife's e-mail : judymarti @ superpa.net Yes, I just got through the forms and Magdalena and William are first family with Blair co. genealogical society. It took a long while to figure out how all three wives and up to 17 or 18 children fit together. My great-great grandfather Thomas (H or J) seems to have left Hollidaysburg in about 1880, and married Sarah Davis, of welsh steel workers in Allegheny County.Pa. The clan moved to Ambridge, where Old economy shut down (Thomas' son Thomas John married one of the daughters of Gottlieb Flueckiger, who was the Harmonite Society's orchardist. Many of the Dunn males died in 1942 & 1943, of heart attacks. My father made it thru WW2 as a combat meteorologist, but died in 1954, at 37; being ill in the war probably contributed. So, that is the story in a nut shell. Deb, on this board, has found out a lot more about the Dunn story than me (she is from Lucretia, daughter of Wm and Mary McCloskey), and has been into genealogy for over a decade. I am also trying to figure out my "Black sheep Grandfather Johnson, who I never met, and his family long lost in the coal fields. I got our family tree up on the site; up to a year ago I only knew a few of them. I wrote one small book about the Dunn's decline, and am now working on one about the family military history. My wife runs our small scale publishing business, and we put one out every coouple years. Mostly, though we hang out in the Blue Ridge Mtns. of Pa. where we run an organic orchard. Hope to hear from you soon, I don't know much about John Dunn. thom Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
