John Floyd, Governor I feel this may prove that the John Dunn who settles in Monroe Co., (W)V, abt. 1782 may well be the son of John & Anna Martin Dunn of Albemarle Co., VA and that Edmund Dunn who marries Polly Harvey in Monroe Co., in 1805 is the son William Dunn, oldest son of John & Anna Martin Dunn of Albemarle Co., VA. If anyone is near a genealogical library in Virginia or West Virginia, may I request help in checking to see if extant and unabstracted originals exist at the Library of Virginia Above information can be seen at Ancestry.com, under Virginia Soldiers of 1776 database. I also have information that William Dunn, oldest child of John & Anna Martin Dunn married Mary Bledsoe and they went to Ky in 1789. Two of their children were killed by Indians. They went first to Fayette Co. and then to Garrard Co., Ky. They travelled with William Bledsoe Jr. and sons, Mary Bledsoe's family. This information from Bledsoe researchers. Collin's History of Kentucky is said to have a report of this Indian attack. ANY help or input welcome.
