He owned a tailor shop somewhere in the NYC area. James married Lillian We(s)tervelt and had 5 kids - James, Catherine, Jane, Lillian (my grandmother) and Mary. I think that Jame's family MAY have been from CT, but some ended up in NYC. James died on 10/19/1960 and is buried in Holy Rood Cemetary on Long Island.
