Richard I's eldest son was John II (Anson Co NC 1770s). Another son was William. John Dunn I had sons Richard II and Robert; these were millers. Richard II takes a 1750 patent for a mill tract on Rockfish Creek (part of Dunn's Creek settlement). He shows up in Moore County NC on a 1780 tax list where he owns a water-powered saw mill on Wet Creek. In the same tax list for Wet Creek are Richard III, Izehiah (mistranscription of Hezekiah), and Bartholomew Dunn. Richard Dunn III and Hezekiah Dunn moved into Montgomery Co NC in the 1790s. The original settlers of Dunn's Creek of the Cape Fear are named with a patents map in an article "Site of Dunn's Creek Quaker Meeting (c1750) Located", North Carolinian vol 5, p. 534ff. Other original Dunn's Creek settlers were Thomas Armstrong, Henry Atkinson, Charles an! d Gresham Benbow, John Berry, James and William Carver, John and Zebulon Clayton, John Elwell, Jonathan Evans, Thomas Finney, W. B. Grove, David and Sarah Lewis, James McDaniel, Mark and William Russell, Daniel Shipman,Henry Simms, J. L. Taylor, Ep Vernon.
