Author: TrishDeMas Surnames: DUNN CLAMPITT Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dunn/6469/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm seeking info re my paternal grandmother, Zuella Zenobia (Zenobah) Dunn Clampitt (daughter of John Franklin Dunn, Jr. and Hellon H. Beck), b. 1879, d. 1918 during childbirth in Claiborne Parish. She was married to Uberta Lester Clampitt. The eldest of 5 children were placed in an orphanage following their mother's death, with the four sons settling in California and the daughter in New Mexico. Little to no family history has been passed down to the offspring of these children, so I'm hoping to make contact with relatives or others who have such information. Uberta Clampitt was a descendant of the Rev. George Nicholson Clampitt, so I've been able to piece together a bit of history through online documents, but know virtually nothing of Zuella or her family - other than the fact that she was a very pretty and petite blue-eyed redhead - and, according to his son, Uberta was a moonshiner/rum-runner during Prohibition. Both are buried in Shady Grove Cemetery in Haynesville, LA! . Any bits of info or photos would be greatly appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as Mr. & Mrs. S. S. DUNN'S home north of Harmony, Minnesota. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's by the Ray Moore Studio in Harmony, MN.
