I believe she was probably named for her grandmother Julia Ann McGrew Dunn who I also have as being buried in Logan Co. On the 1870 census from Logan Co., Julia is 10 years old with parents Andrew and Sarah. No other Julia shown so I believe that grandma Julia died around the time little Julia was born. Donegal. Sites pointed to research places for geneology. The cost was about $180 then. We received 20 plus pages of relatives and history. With that, a phone call to IE and a payment of less than $15, we received a certified birth certificate from 1890. We met the family in December, still in the 1802 farm house. Went back in April. Me Dunn line is 1814 in DE...the stone wall. I would be OK discussing more, but fear putting my address online. $200 for a chance to find what you want, even if it is fraud, is a small risk. I took it, and am glad I did. It was a whim, but for my wife, a happiness to find her roots. All we had was a prayer book from 1898, with a town. Now, a family. Mostly I am trying to find out more about the 1906-1954 Dunns of Ambridge Pa., of which it looks like I might be the last survivor. There might be a branch in DeLand, Fla. I seem to be at the 'brickwall' trying to find out when and where Willam Dunn was born. I've received 'tips' that it was 1819, and from Ireland. but I am still going with his death record in Blair Co. courthouse which states he was born in Bedford, Pa. I know that some of the census reports state that he was from Ireland, and one intriguing one from his grandson state that Wm. was born in Kentucky. I have found nothing to support it. I did get an intriguing tip tying the Old Economy Flueckigers with Bern, Switzerland. I have up until now had no luck connecting immigration records with European records. So, get in touch when you can. thom marti Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
