His children were George Hollister, William Payson, Isaac Sterling, Duncan James, Lulu, Emma & Edith. His wife was Emma Hilliard. 1. [DUNN] To Duncan5650 re: Squire Brown
    2. In my neck of the woods, "Squire" was a nickname for some of the older settlers. "Captain" was also used to refer to some of the original male settlers. However, I don't know anything about a Squire Dunn in Brown County, Ohio. The Ohio that I am referring to is a village of 500 inhabitants founded 1877 in Northern Bureau County, Illinois one mile south of the county line. My Dunns first came to New York state, then most of them moved on to Illinois with no stops between New York and there. I sure wish you great luck in finding your Squire Dunn. 3. Myrna, I am going to St. Louis for a few days (3)at the end of the month. I will get in touch with my uncle and see what he can tell me. This is beginning to be quite a search. I can find dunns all over and even in ark but not mine. Oh well there are other family names to keep me going. Theres even a tale that I am a grt neice (many times removed) of Issac Newton. So thats another trail I'm on. Have you come across Elzy Dunn of Tuckerman Ark? I am going to order information on birth certificates soon. I have only just begun but everyone has been so nice and helpful. I will keep you posted on Thomas and my branch of the Dunns. have a good weekend. In the 1860 Marshall County census there is Levi Dunn 54 m TN, Delilia 49F NC, Mariah 16 f, Mary 14 f, Nancy 13 f, all 3 born in AL. Now since they had only been married 2 years, the girls must belong to only one of them. There names are listed as Dunn. There is a marriage license for Levi Dunn and Ann Garland 28 May 1840 in Marshall County, AL. It's possible that Ann is the mother. Or not. Maybe the children belonged to Delilia and the census taker did not list their last name. This will give you some names to check out. Lots of luck. Jo Dunn Sheppard

    1. [DUNN] RE: Everybody is descended from Thomas Dunn!!!!! ????
    2. I would never have known how 'common' the name Thomas Dunn is if it weren't for this list. Unfortunately, my g. g. g. grandfather Thomas Dunn has no connection to the famed Thomas Dunn everyone seems to be descended from. My guy was born in Kilnadeema/Killeenadeema, south of Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ireland circa 1780-90. A bunch of his kids came to the U.S. 1847-1857 time period. Lawrence settled in Phelps, New York; Alice and Michael settled north of Ohio, Illinois in Hamilton Twp., Lee County. Descendants are spread out all over. Good luck to everyone! Carole Dunn Vaughn

I was looking at my ancestry.com message board and found that I had not contacted you for some time and did not realize that you had contacted me. When I was on-line, I was at my daughter Andrea's home and used her P.C.. I am back trying to locate my Reuben Dunn again and hope we can get connected. My direct link is Mary Dunn, daughter of , I think, Reuben. She married a Thomas Riggin in Monroe Co., W.VA. in 1802. According to Census records, Thomas is surpose to have been born in Delaware. Where or when he he met Mary (Polly) I have no idea. If the Dunn's lived in the Delaware area or Maryland area at one time, I don't know. Surposedly his father and family all lived in theSomerset Co., area of Maryland. I have not been able to find a good connection to any sibblings yet and there is no census that I can find that lists her as a child. She is surpose to have been born in VA. I find a lot of Dunns in the Albermarle Co., area of Virginia and I have bee! n centering my research there lately. If yoi have anything new please contact.
