Our Dunns have a Theodore"Dora" Dunn, but about 15 years later-son of Albert Allen and Martha Calvert, b in Ky. Roslyn. ----- Original Message -----
Good morning, I do not have a Theodore Dunn in what I know about the Dunn's. The ones that I have found come from the UK to Surry County, Va and into other parts of Va and into Tenn and into SC. I am sorry we can not match people at this point but he could be an off spring of my Dunn's that has not surfaced. I am told the Dunn's originated in Ireland and that their names was O'Dunn before coming to the USA. Please keep in touch you never know. Hi Geraldine, that is not one I have seen before, tho the name Lafever rings a bell somewhere. None of ours went to Tenn but some went to IN and I think a lot of people mistake TN and IN. Our Dunns came to Ky. at the very end of 1700's. Sorry I couldn't help, but will keep your message in case-Roslyn ----- Original

Roslyn, Thanks for getting back to me. Wish we could have made a connection. If you find a connection to the Lafever's, get in touch with me. Some of Andrew Wesley Lafever's siblings moved into IN & OH. A cousin and I have been pondering the many John W. Dunns found in n. Ky. (Our first one was John W. born in Pa in 1780). Does anyone out there have any ideas about the middle initial? We do have a William Dunn in the next generation and wondered if the first one was from the maiden name of the mother, perhaps Williams or Williamson? Anyone out there have a clue? Roslyn-----
Hope everyone has seen the new Ky. births on line. http://www.vitalsearch-ca.com/php/tbl_select_txbiygen.php3?server=1&db=vital It has the person, birth, and mother's maiden name, unfortunately, not the father's first name. Found an Ida B. Dunn, b. 1/19/1914, mother, May Starkey that I am extremely interested in. Does anyone know anything about this Ida B? Thanks, Roslyn
Roslyn, Have you come across an Allen Dunn that married Katherine Lafever in KY? Allen's name is probably James Allen or John Allen. He was born abt. 1802, VA & married Katherine Lafever in KY abt. 1826. Katherine was born abt 1805, KY. Allen Dunn & Katherine Lafever's dau., Mary (my g-g-grandmother) was born in KY. I know absolutely nothing about Allen Dunn except that he & Katherine moved to White Co., TN after Katherine's parents, Andrew Wesley Lafever & Nancy Ard, moved to White Co., TN from KY (maybe Wayne Co., KY). Allen & Katherine was living in White Co., TN when they died. If anyone recognizes this family, I sure would appreciate hearing from you. I will share any info that I have. Goldie Mae Kisner, I found a Testimony of Edward J. Dunn, 35 yrs. old. Living in Beechhurst, Long Island and he was a salesman. The testimony goes into him having a luncheon, discussing the disaster of the Titanic, and something about a telegram being delivered at Western Union that was also delivered to the White Star office. Rowell June 30 1853, Wilcox Co. Ala. Census records give her birth as ca 1833, Wilcox Co. A partial list of voters in the 1860 presidential election shows C.M. Rowell and an E.W. Dunn in the Foxes Mill Beat. Nancy Jane is shown in only one census, Wilcox Co. 1860. Shortly afterward Caleb moved his young family to Louisiana where Nancy Jane died before the 1870 census, which shows Caroline, Caleb's new wife. Nancy Jane and Caleb named children: Annie?, James Wiley, Louis Edward, Katherine. --=======44B3256D=======--
I have submitted a picture of the family of Peter Dunn of Peru, Indiana, to ancient faces. The url and description of the picture is below. Good site if you haven't seen it with frequent updates and new pictures. The Dunn picture also shows a Fred Zimmerman.
