    1. [DUNN] William Edward Dunn death help 1934 Ozarks in AK
    2. Eileen Gillette
    3. Hi List, It has been quite some time sense I posted and have information now so hope someone can steer me in the right direction. The family story goes like this (short version) William Edward DUNN was born 6 Feb 1863 in PA to Martin DUNN of Ireland and Susie KINNON (maybe McKINNON, that's what her mother is listed as) anyway.... Susie and William's sister (don't know her name) get sick and die when William is 3 or 4 (about 1867 or 1868 based on his birth. Martin is run over by a train when William is 8 about 1871. He goes to live with an aunt (no name as yet, don't even know which side aunt is from) in PA. He is suppose to have become a chef but by the time he marries Alice Mary TOMPKINS daughter of Richard Edward TOMPKINS and Mary Evelyn PEETS he is a farmer and a dairyman. I know that he comes to CA and has a farm in Galt, Sacramento County, gets a divorce and somehow ends up in the Ozarks in AK where he dies 13 Mar 1934. Does any of this sound familiar ? Can anyone lead me in a direction to find his D/C with death place as vague as the Ozarks?

    3. I don't know who Mary Dunn is, but there were some Brewster sisters who m. into Dunns and the family eventually started three different colleges in Indiana.. Dunns in my branch came from Ireland before the rw and all fought before and during the war. My John served "on the Frontiers of said country" according to papers from Pa. There were a lot of Dunns in Northampton, and Philadelphia, and in New Jersey. You might check there. My husband was a McLendon whose family eventually settled in Texas. Haven't figured out how they got there, but am told they came from the south, then on to Texas, believe the Carolinas were mentioned. Roslyn.

    3. Allan, I believe this date of 1777 came from an old Bible but it could certainly be incorrect. Do you have any other information on the James Dunn born in 1771? 1. [DUNN] Arkansas Dunns - b. around 1730-1770, in Arkansas around 1780
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hlT.2ACEB/2822 Message Board Post: I am attempting to search for siblings/parents of Thomas Dunn, b. 1/17/1765 in Wythe County, VA, d. 9/19/1839 Claiborne or Sullivan Co. TN. His family left Virginia for Arkansas about 1780-1785. On the way, Thomas got typhoid and they left him with the local family in Claiborne TN, the Beelers (Thomas eventually married Margaret Beeler). Problem is, Thomas never went to Arkansas, staying in Tennessee. There seem to be no records on the TN side of the Dunns as to who Thomas' ancestors were. Thomas must have known where they were, though, because his son Francis (Frank) went to Arkansas in the early 1800s, in or near Sebastian Co. If anyone knows of any Dunns in this area who surfaced in Arkansas before 1790, I would be very grateful. Feel free to email me - I'd be happy to share what I know if I can help.
