    3. 2002 Scully-Dunn Reunion ~Update~ Wednesday, February 06, 2002 Greetings family members near and far! I am Carole Dunn Vaughn, this year's chairman for the Scully-Dunn reunion. This reunion celebrates the family of Michael T. Dunn and his wife, Mary Ann Downey of the small village of Ohio in the state of Illinois. Since a good deal of the reunion attendees each year came from the descendants of their children Mary "Jane" Dunn SCULLY and James Patrick DUNN, the gathering became known as the "Scully-Dunn Reunion". However, descendants from the other children of Michael T. Dunn and Mary Ann Downey also attend and one way or another we are all RELATED. One of my ambitions, is to expand the mailing list so that some day ALL the descendants of Michael T. Dunn and Mary Ann Downey will be aware of the annual reunion which is traditionally held on the third Sunday in July. This year's Scully-Dunn Reunion date is confirmed. It will be held Sunday, July 21st 2002 in the shelter at the City-County Park, just north of Princeton, Illinois. The shelter is rented from 10 a.m. til 5 p.m. A more traditional reunion invitation will be mailed to everyone on the mailing list around Memorial Day. I would like to take this opportunity to request that you share your family addresses with me. In addition, I would like to ask that those of you who are unable to attend to please send your greetings to the family. I will post or read these greetings at this year's reunion. We are always happy to hear what our relatives are up to and this is a way that you can be at the reunion in spirit if not in the flesh. You can reply to me with your family addresses and greetings to: amhran@theramp.net I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great year!

About all the info I can give is that my father's name was John Clifford Perryman born July 28, 1910 in OK (I think) died March 1982 in Midland, TX. He married Lucille Pearl Dunn (born February 2, 1917) sometime in 1932. Not sure where my mother was born or when they moved to TX. They had 3 children named John, Doris, and William. In August, 1966 they adopted Mellisa and in November, 1966 they adopted me. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Mark Perryman

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hlT.2ACEB/2680.1 Message Board Post: Your enquiry is very enticing. My ancestor is John Dunn,b.abt 1780 Va. Parents unknown. He went to SC at some point in time, married a woman we know only as Mary"Polly"?. They lived in Pendleton Dist.SC in 1810. I think they married about 1807 or so. They had 7 children, 4 of which were b.in SC.They then moved to White Co.Tenn, where the last 3 were born. Their names were:James;Nancy;Azariah;Martha;(these b.in SC);Littleton;Benjamen and Eli. One family member said that an elderly gr.aunt of hers had said once that John Dunn's brother died in Ireland,so,he left and went to America. Our John was b.in Va;so,it could have been his father who was the emigrant. The thing is,that we have a few Samuels in the line of descent from John. We have very few clues on John's father;but,i figure that if his father, and probably siblings, did not go to SC with him, then, some of them may have either stayed in Va,or migrated on. Ours went from Va,to Pendleton Dist.SC,to White Co.Tenn,to Hardin Co! .Ky,Grayson Co.Ky and finally Breckinridge Co.Ky. I'm tracking down any leads and i'm going a lot on the names of the children,as they can be clues to the family. Ours were poor people, not any landowners as far as i've found.Farmers.Did any of your group migrate to KY? I'm following any clues these days. thanks.

Can you tell me what County or Counties your group began or ended up in? I think my John Dunn, who was b.abt 1780 in Va;but married a S.C.woman we only know as Mary":Polly" ,probably had several siblings.,some of which may have gone on into Ky. He went from Va,to SC,to White Co.Tenn,Hardin Co.Ky,Grayson Co.Ky,then Breckinridge Co.Ky. We have a James Samuel Dunn in his line of descendants, and we're at the end of the trail,it seems. We can't find John's father's name.so are tracking down any leads. Let me know about the counties. thanks.

Hafey" I have Bridgit Delia Heaphy (d. 10 September 1965) in my line, married to a Thomas Dunn (d. 4 October 1950). I'm sure this is the same person, Just a mis-spelling of the last name in the city record, or birth records. the rest of the family, all 5 sisters, one brother, and the parents used Heaphy. Young Joseph Heaphy is buried in the same family plot as are Delia's (nobody in the family knows where she picked up this nick name; she used it most of her life) parents, Patrick and Catherine Connors Heaphy, her sister Anna (my grandmother) Heaphy Whalen and her husband Patrick, and a number of Murphys, related by the marriage of another sister, Margaret, are all buried in the same family plot in Mount St. Peter's cemetery in Derby, CT which many years ago was known as St. Mary's. My grandfather Patrick Whalen's obituary lists one of the pallbearers as "Wm. Dunn", no doubt the son of Bridget and Thomas. I have the online family tree listed under "Foley" the other side of my family, in case you'd like to browse. If you want photos of the PARENTS of Bridget's stone, feel free to let me know. I don't know for certain, but would bet a fair wager that the Dunns are in the same cemetery too, which is a five minute drive for me, so if you are using photos, let me know and I'll see if they are there. Young Joseph was one of three buried in small children's graves, at the head or feet of adult graves in the same family plot, none of which are marked, but are recorded as to location.
