Surnames: Dunn - Green - Blakely - Lee - Ross Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hlT.2ACEB/2691.1.4 Message Board Post: The Dunn family I am researching is of Indian decent and settled in Texas. As to the exact connection with the Cherokee Nations, that information has not been confirmed but there are stories in the family of their ancestors having walked "The Trail of Tears". They also indicated the family was originally from Tennessee. Another note... Many different nations were gathered together in an area of Arkansas at one point. Some who were Choctaw or other than Cherokee were "told" (by officials) they would be considered Cherokee from that point on and were counted as such. This information comes from a woman, now deceased, who was a child of one of a Choctaw family and remembered this happening. This woman is from another family line I am researching with surnames of Wilkinson - Trammel - Gooleher - Weaver. I do not have confirmation of the exact location in Arkansa, however.
