My husbands family looked at first like one of them had 25 children. Then to our surprise some of them were brought to the marriage by the second and third wives and just took the step fathers surname. Very interesting since that disease is almost exclusive to the area around Italy, Southern France and those areas. An friend has the same thing and she has traced it to Southern France and Sicily

Lived in MD and later descendants in GA. I have a somewhat rare blood disease (not fatal), Thalassemia minor, that doctors say is usually only seen in people of Mediterrean ancestry. I know of no ancestor from that area, so I'm polling all my ancestral lines for clues. My brother's daughter, my sister, and her younger son also have it. Do you have a clue for me? Thanks. June

Norma Dunn was born in 1938 and died in 1981, she left behind two children I am aware of..a daughter, Theresa, bn abt 1959, and JAMES TIMOTHY DUNN born Feb 5, 1963. As a child he may have been known as "Tim". He was in alot of trouble when he was young and had been incarcerated several times. I am most interested in finding him, as he and I were very good friends in the late 80's..I recently heard a rumor that he had died of AIDS but cant find any verification of this thru SSDI or an Ohio death certificate. I know that Norma is buried in Mansfield and that Theresa still lived there in 1987. If anyone can help me please contact me directly at LJM0918@aol.com Thank you, Lisa McFarland

I have the same Dunns William has. Thomas was my grt grt grt grandfather. His son Isaac was my grt grt grandfather. His daughter, Laura Virginia, was my grt grandmother. I do wish I could find something about Penelope Evangeline Ewell or Yewell Dunn. I have seen it spelled both ways but mostly Yewell. She was the wife of Isaac. I have Laura Virginia's Bible. It is the one called her new Bible. The old Bible, along with her mother's Bible with a world of information in it, was burned in a house fire. I wish I could have had a tape recorder when I was just a small boy. Just for some of the stories Laura Virginia Dunn Jackson told. The only one I remember much is the one she told about when the Yankee soldiers came. I think she was about as old as I was when she died. She was born in 1858 although I have seen some records that said she was born in 1856. Don't make much difference I guess. ----- Original Message ----- From: Cecile Roberts <msviper@bellsouth.net> To: <DUNN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 26, 2002 4:13 PM Subject: Re: [DUNN] Re: looking for any DUNN's that are INDIAN decent. > Hello Commancehe, > I have the cd's ready I promised to mail will mail them the first (Pay day) > if you want me to run your (Our) Dunn's thru my Cherokee bookslet me know > which ones. > > > > TJ > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Comanche" <comanche@abts.net> > To: <DUNN-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Tuesday, March 26, 2002 5:08 PM > Subject: Re: [DUNN] Re: looking for any DUNN's that are INDIAN decent. > > > > My grt grandmother, Laura Virginia Dunn was Cherokee! > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: <love2chat@prodigy.net> > > To: <DUNN-L@rootsweb.com> > > Sent: Monday, March 25, 2002 10:02 PM > > Subject: [DUNN] Re: looking for any DUNN's that are INDIAN decent. > > > > > > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > > > > > Surnames: Dunn,Carr,Miller, White, Garragus, Boyd, Byrd, > > > Classification: Query > > > > > > Message Board URL: > > > > > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hlT.2ACEB/2691.1.3.1.1.1 > > > > > > Message Board Post: > > > > > > Hello Trish there could be Indian in us Dunns ive heard there were, and > > from some they say Irish, But from my belief and what my mother has said > its > > half Irish, quarter German, and quarter Indian. i do have a letter from an > > aunt that says they are half cherokee, so that is what makes me a quarter, > > so for now i say yes we are Cherokee Indian, and Irish,,...
