Surnames: Dunn, Martin, Hunt, Alvarez Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hlT.2ACEB/4011 Message Board Post: (not related - for board info only) as I read this obit it is possible that his b-day is 1941 not 1914. Dunn, Phillip Douglas In Loving Memory of PHILLIP DOUGLAS DUNN Aug. 12, 1914 - May 28, 2006 Phillip Dunn was a husband, father, grandpa, son, bro ther, uncle, cousin, and dear friend. He has a family and friends who love him deeply and will miss him forever. Phil was married for 38 years to the love of his life, Linda Dove Dunn. They had two wonderful children, Stephanie and Phillip. He respected and delighted in his son-in-law, Braun Martin, and adored his grandchildren, Broghan, 5; Brielle, 2; and Bethany, 8 months. He was excitedly looking forward to his son's marriage to Michelle Hunt. Phil was a passionate and generous man, who made little distinction between family and friend. He was truly happy when he knew everyone around him was happy. He looked at his life as a something to be shared and took it on as a pilot, dune-buggy driver, motorcycle rider, jet-skier, and boater. He was enjoying one of his favorite pastimes, a leisurely motorcycle ride with several family members when he missed a ! turn and was fatally injured. He proudly served in the Navy from 1964 to 1967. He earned a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and co-founded his business , Landmark Electronics, in 1976 with his longtime friend, Alfred Alvarez. There will be a viewing on Monday from 5 pm - 9 pm at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills and the memorial service will be on Tuesday, June 6, at 11:30 am. Published in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune on 6/4/2006.

I would like to try to find out more about my mother's many cousins. And, I'd like to ask if anyone is related to or knows about the following family: George and Harriett (KERR) DUNN had 3 children: Leroy "Roy," Dorothy "Dottie," and Harriett "Hattie." Harriett DUNN married Ian SHIPLEY, and they had 2 children. They later divorced, and Harriett remarried. Son, Ian SHIPLEY, Jr., married Dixie _____, and they had 2 children, John SHIPLEY and Janice SHIPLEY. Son, Bruce SHIPLEY went to Washington, DC, and became a Presidential Aide. He was a Citadel graduate. (Not known whether he married.) This information is from my mother's notes from the 1970's, and it involves the KERR family of Everett and Malden, MA. Because it is an unusual name, I did a Google search for "Ian SHIPLEY" and found this: http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?971+ful+SJ237 It seems that both brothers, Ian and Bruce, went to the VA and Washington, DC, area, and did very well for themselves. I do not know if the whole family had moved down there ! Betty (near Lowell, MA)

I also have pictures of Aruther Connor's headstone who's suppose to be Marry's father... i think.... I don't have alot of info but have been searching forever.... not many on my side of family to ask about... My Uncle Alden tells me names but then is not sure of connections..... My dad keeps telling me Richard worked on the railroad and was from Kentucky. How did your' wife's mom know the name Safari Dunn, because I think I've seen that name somewhere on web before but couldn't make a connection..! .. You can email me at [email protected] Fair warning though... I'm only on internet once every week or so... Have a busy job right now... take care Annette
