Hello, I posted my research interests a while ago but now have new information. So, I am reposting in the hope that someone else is researching the same family. Isobel Hamilton (b. April 1792 Glasgow. Father-John, Mother-Janet McKinlay, siblings-Mary, Gabriel, Janet) married James McAllister (b. approx. 1797 Barony, Lanark. Father-John, Mother Elizabeth Gilfillan) on December 19, 1822 in Helensburgh, parish of Row. Their children: John, born September 30, 1823 Helensburgh Janet McKinlay, born June 26, 1825 Helensburgh Elisabeth Gilfillan, born March 14, 1827 Helensburgh James, born December 11, 1829 Barony, Lanark Elisabeth married Duncan McColl (tailor, born in Appin, Argyll. Father -John) on May 14, 1849 in Helensburgh. Their children: John, born March 10, 1850 Helensburgh James, born December 12, 1851 Helensburgh Isabella Hamilton, born February 14, 1854 Glasgow Two twin daughters were also born to Elisabeth and were illegitimate. I don't know what happened to Duncan. The twins were: Catherine Jean & Margaret Armstrong born on December 1, 1858 Helensburgh. This family group, minus Duncan the father, immigrated to the state of Rhode Island, USA in the 1870s. I hope this connects with someone else. If so, I'd love to hear from you.
