I'm hoping to find common interests in the search for McKinlays originating in Dunbartonshire. I can trace my forbears back to 1784 in Rhu from Chicago, IL through Greenock, Renfrewshire, Helensburgh, and Rhu (Row in earlier days). There is evidence that some of the family may have resided as far West as Bute and up to Craigandorran(sic?). Alleged connections to the Farquharsons, MacFarlanes, Stewarts of Appin or Buchanans have yet to be established. I would dearly like to establish a dialogue and to share information with similarly minded researchers.
