I was visiting the gravesite of my gg-grandparents, Robert Loudon and Margaret Bryce, in Elgin, Quebec, Canada, recently, and took note of the three headstone incriptions below. Maybe someone will find them useful... The _real_ reason I'm posting this is because I'm reasonably sure the inscription on Robert Loudon's headstone reads "Native of Cumbernauld", but that is just a guess on my part because the stone has deteriorated so badly in the middle part of the town name. If anyone could confirm that Cumbernauld is indeed the birthplace of Robert Loudon, I would be forever grateful, because this has been a longstanding "brick wall" to me. The inscriptions follow my signature. Regards, Jim Loudon jloudon@hotmail.com http://www.loudon.org ----- Headstone #1 -- Capt. R.
