Hi Eileen There was a Gordon St.in Clydebank before the Blitz in 1941,there is a list of bombs that fell on Clydebank, and in two cases it mentions Gordon St.so it was there, and it was probably around the centre of town. My more recent map,1986,mentions a Gordon Rd.I don't know if it's the same one. There is no Gordon St on the list. By the way Clydebank is not in Glasgow.Under the old boundaries,Clydebank was in Dunbartonshire, and Glasgow was in Lanarkshire.Remember this when doing your research before the 1970s However they were quite close to each other, and it can be confusing to anyone not familiar with the area.I was born there!! You should try and check the Scottish Birth Indexes around that time at an L.D.S Family History Centre.
