His mother was Mary Liddell and married Matthew Blair on March 11, 1805. I'm not sure of the town they were married in, but Matthew's parents were from Inshinin, Scotland. Matthew Blair and Mary Liddell had the following children. Agnes b. 1/2/1806, Matthew b. 11/28/1807, Janet b. 5/12/1809, Jeanie b. 11/25/1810, Matthew (another)b. 5/9/1813, Mary b. 10/3/1815, James b. 3/25/1818, William b. 3/25/1820, Janet(another) b. 7/25/1822, Robert b. 1/24/1825, John b. 7/18/1827, Walter b. 9/29/183?. The only Blair that I can tie in to being around the Blossburg/Arnot area that is a part of this family is John who was born in 1827. He is shown in the alien status report to have arrived in New York in 1871 and renounced the Queen in 1874 at the age of 47. Also on that alien status report is a Matthew Blair age 30 arrived in New York in 1869 from Scotland. Matthew Blair's father was also named Matthew and married twice. The first time to Janet Blackwood and they had the one son Matthew. They were married in Inschinin, Scotland on 3/5/1784. He married a second time to Mary Blackwood (may have been a sister - I don't know) and they had 8 additional children. Unfortunately I have very little information on these children as far as their children are concerned. If you need any additional information, please feel free to email me. The dates you have given for the date of birth do not add up with what I know, but since they all came to the same area in the PA and came from the same area in Scotland there is a good chance that they are connected. I know that my great grandfather was a miner and was not thrilled with life in the US.
