    3. Dear List, Here is something to consider.Many Irish,including mine,left Ireland (after the famine) for Scotland to find work in the shipping industry which grew up along the Clyde River. Receiving a wage was important to them. In my family they started out living in Glasgow,in the Govan area (Lanarkshire)and then moved to the Dumbarton area in Dunbartonshire to work at another shipbuilding site. I hope this helps.
