It just so happens I used to live in Clydebank when I worked there, and so am familiar with the location of Dalmuir (which is now part of Clydebank). I live near Wick, Caithness (right at the top of Scotland). The scotlandspeople website is a pay-by-credit site, and you buy a minimum of 6 pounds worth of credits to start you off, and you can top up your credits at any time (you can pay by credit card). If you want to use a local researcher - for a large number of certificates plus advice - I can recommend a researcher who works at Edinburgh. Gordon.
