The Mary I mentioned, was my great, great grandmother, who had a son named James, he was my great grandfather. Mary may have had a brother named James, there is a mentioned of perhaps a child named that, who may have married a Sara Hislop. Mary's parents were named Alexander and Janet. So I don't think we're talking about the exact same people. There were a couple of James in the Rhind line but I can't find the Mary Whitelaw anywhere. I know this isn't of great help but it may eliminate us as being related. I hope you can find your relative, I know how hard this can be.
