Frank...your records are not in the OPR, as you said....I asked to talk to the "expert" there on the staff. He told me that there are Catholic records that are in the Record Office in Edinburgh, but the LDS church does not have those records. Now, there is a set of 6 volumes written by Michael Gandy on "Catholic missions and registers 1700-1880" Volume 6 included indexes from Scotland, but would you believe Vol 6 was off the shelf the whole day that I was there today. I'm sorry, I didn't ask if it was just out, or if they didn't have it. I'll check next time. The call number is 942K24tgm V. 6 and V. 6 copy 2. I'm not sure what would be found in that volume. It isn't a very large book. That's all I could find out. There may be someone on this list who has had experience with Catholic records. How about a trip to Edinburgh? Barb Lewis
