Hello Connie Just a thought about finding the parents for your Margaret BLACK. If she died in Scotland 1855 to 1875 or in 1881 or 1891, her death certificate should be available for you to view on film through your nearest LDS. You may be able to narrow down the possible death date from census records (also available through the LDS) or someone may be able to check the 1881 census on CDs to locate the family (if you have not already done this). Scottish death certificates SHOULD show the names of both parents of the deceased plus the maiden name of the mother and whether the parents themselves are deceased. I see two of you family died in Scotland in the 1860s. You should get the names of their parents from the films of their death certificates. Don't forget to check the whole film while you have it on loan at the LDS as you may find other relatives. For some counties all the death certificates for the year will be on one film but for some of the larger ones e.g. Lanarkshire, there may be two or even three films for the year, recorded alphabetically by parish name.
