Let me say that if you have John's birth...did you find it in the Old Parish records??...and if so, there should be the parents 'names. Also, have you searched the OPR records for the marriage? If you can find it there, then it may mentioned where she is "of".....and then you can pursue that parish for her birth record. Anyway, just some thoughts.
