He was born circa 1764 and married Jean Johnstone at Old Kilpatrick 1791 and died 1852 he is buried at West Bridgend, Dumbarton. Hiseldest son Alexander was born 1795 at Conalton, Dumbarton and he married early and was a widower by 1841 when his brother was living in Paisley, Renfrew.
