I am looking for the parents of Catherine Ewing of Cardross who married Patrick McAuslan of Rutherglen. The closest I can come to possible parents of Catherine are James Ewing and Mary Gray who were married in 1798 in Greenock but most of whose nine known children were born in Dumbarton. Christian and Agnes were twins born 8 Jan 1809. This is the correct year for my Catherine and I can find no birth in Cardross for a Catherine. I have found three other Catherines who were born about that time but not in Dumbarton. Walter Ewing and Jean Taylor had a daughter Christian born 1806 in Glasgow (there are no Walters in the family) John Ewing and Margaret Dick had a daughter Catherrine b 1807 in Stirling. James Ewing and Margaret Martin had a daughter Catherine born 1808 in Perth. If I could eliminate some of these Catherines it would be a great help. I would appreciate any help.
