Archibald's father, James was born 1808 died 20 Nov 1886. James was born at Dunbarton. He was a farmer at Mt. Pleasant (72 acres). Married Martha Taylor. Children: Elizabeth (b: 1838), John (b: 1839 d: 1849), gilbert (b: 1842), James (b: 1844), Janet (b: 1846), Archibald (b: 1848), Martha (b: 1850) and Ann (b: 1855). James is buried at Old Kilpatrick Churchyard. This James (father of your Archibald) is the brother of my g-g-grandmother. Believe James' parents are John Filshie and Janet Lang.
