My ggggg grandmother was a Janet McKinlay. She married a John Hamilton c. 1780 something (I don't have my notes right in front of me). Although they were married in Glasgow, I believe they had some connection to Helensburgh and Row parish because their children, Isobel (my gggg grandmother b. approx. 1792 Glasgow) and Gabriel were both married in the Row parish church. That leads me to believe the family moved to Helensburgh so probably had some sort of connection. At this point, I have not researched Janet McKinlay as I don't have much info but if she got married in 1780s, she was probably born approx. 1760s. Does this person sound familiar to you?
