Hello Friends, I am seeking information of our Grandmother Margaret Clelland Florance. Her parents may have been John and Margaret Clelland. Margaret was born May 10, 1881 in New Kilpatrick. She married Alexander Florance of Achterless, Aberdeen(b.May 27, 1879-1949) in Scotland. Margaret and Alexander migrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada and later moved on to Drumheller, Alberta. Both Margaret and Alexander died in Los Angeles, CA. They had one daughter Margaret Clelland Florance Goggin born in Calgary. Alexander served in WWI. The family wore the Stewart dress plaid, but do not know the connection. This is all of the information that I have on the family. Can anyone tell me if New Kilpatrick is an area that a large group of Clellands are found. I would appreciate any suggestions on the next step in research I should follow.
