LENNOX FAMILY - Scotland to Ireland?? In the early 18 hundreds my Lennox family were in Kildare Ireland. The Lennox family appeared to have owned land at Rahilla Common 3 miles north of Kildare town in the Parish of Dunmurray, land was owned by Laurence Lennox and son James with a smaller area owned by Martha Lennox. Also they appeared to have owned land in Prosperous and Curryhils townlands in Kildare. This information was obtained from the Griffith Valuations. The following individuals are known to us. Lawrence Lennox m. Bridget Hughes (place and date unknown) Children known to us. 1. James Lennox m. Ellen Kearns (Daughter of John Kearns and Eleanor Collins) 2. Catherine Lennox m. Paul Kearns (Son of John Kearns and Eleanor Collins) 3. Michael Lennox b. 1 Sep 1817 m. 25 Jul 1843 Brigid Foran. 4. Thomas Lennox b. 17 Aug 1820 m1. 22 Jun 1840 Anastasia Fitzgerald. Both Catherine and Thomas came to Australia after their marriages. We have only managed to find two births in Ireland so far - that of Michael and Thomas. I realise the family could have moved from Scotland to Ireland a few generations earlier, but on the off chance I thought I would ask if anyone has a Lawrence Lennox anywhere in their family tree who could possibly fit into this family.
