    2. --part1_8b4338a3.24fa110e_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Thought I'd share my MACGREGOR/MCGREGOR linkages with the list in hopes my fellow listers share a common link. Any and all responses much appreciated. With all good wishes, /S/ Jim Carey Washington, DC --part1_8b4338a3.24fa110e_boundary Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-path: RADMCarey@aol.com From: RADMCarey@aol.com Full-name: RADM Carey Message-ID: <9342232b.24f957a6@aol.com> Date: Sat, 28 Aug 1999 11:17:58 EDT Subject: My MACGREGOR's To: MACGREGOR-L@rootsweb.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: AOL 4.0 for Windows 95 sub 21 are actually MCGREGOR's, or at least thats the spelling of the name that was used when they arrived in the USA. They hail from the Dunbarton area of Glasgow, Scotland. My Great Great Grandfather was Duncan MACGREGOR of Kenmore, b. 10-16-1801. I believe his parents to be Donald MACGREGOR of Kenmore, b. April 15, 1781, and Margaret MACKERCHER. I haven't yet located Margaret's lineage. Duncan married Margaret DOCHERTY, b. Jan. 11, 1805 [of either Greenock Old or West Parish] on Sept. 19, 1829 in Bonhill Parish, COS. I believe Margaret DOCHERTY's parents to be Daniel DOCHERTY and Euphemia KEITH, both of the Glasgow, Scotland area. Their first son Alexander was born in Runton on April 18, 1830 in Renton. His christening was in May of that year in the Parish of Cardross. My Great Grandfather was John MACGREGOR, Duncan & Margaret's son, b. Feb. 21, 1838 in Renton. He married Margaret GOURLEY of either Glasgow or Edinburgh [records are incomplete] in Wisconsin, USA and their daughter Jennie Mae MCGREGOR was my Grandmother [married Cadwallader Joseph Edmund HARRISON in Wisconsin, USA]. As best I can determine, Duncan, Margaret, Alexander, John and the rest of the family emigrated to the USA in the 1860's, settling in an area called Nepeuskin, Wisconsin, Winnebago County, Northeast of Berlin, WI, in an area served by the Ripon, WI Post office. Duncan and Margaret are buried in the Nepeuskin Cemetery near there, and John & Margaret are buried in the Poy Sippi, WI [Waushara County] Cemetery. Interested in locating any of the MACGREGOR ancestors and/or descendents still in Scotland [as well as the DOCHERTY, MACKERCHER, GOURLEY, & KEITH ancestors], in tracing the MACGREGOR ancestry beyond Donald and Margaret, and in locating any descendents in the USA or wherever else they may have settled, since some of our family records indicate some of the family may have emigrated to Australia. Any and all responses much appreciated. With all good wishes, /S/ Rear Admiral Jim Carey Washington, DC --part1_8b4338a3.24fa110e_boundary--
