Hello Calum Your McKinlays don't by any chance link back to someone with a sister names Christina or Christian McKINLAY who was married to William McFARLAND or McFARLANE with a daughter Martha (born c 11 June 1764 at Dumbarton parish (married John GREENHILL from Paisley May 1788 Dumbarton - banns 31 May 1788 Dumbarton & 24 May 1788 Middle Church Paisley) and son William 8 December 1767 (or 1768). I am descended from Martha McFarland & John Greenhill and would love to hear from anyone with a link to this family.
