My Dunbartonshire roll call is virtually all in Cumbernauld: Robert AITKEN m 1791 to Jean RUSSELL They had Thomas AITKEN who m Janet ANDERSON 1812 (Other children of Robert and Jean were an earlier Thomas, and later, John, Henry, Mary and Robert). Thomas and Janet had Thomas, Margaret, Mary, Jean, John, James, Robert and George. George AITKEN m Jean Hunter McKenzie 1877 and had Thomas, John, Agnes Taylor (my grandmother), Jean Hunter and Eliza Barr. Agnes Taylor m John McLEAN and both she and brother John emigrated to New Zealand. Eliza Barr married STIRRATT and stayed in Cumbernauld. Alan, Auckland, New Zealand alan.spence@xtra.co.nz
