Hi Pam et al, Sorry I can't shed any light on Cloddach, but I'm interested in Alexander Mathieson's memoirs: I've got a database of Mathiesons of all spellings in Glasgow and surrounding counties (AYR, BUT, ARL, DNB, RFW, LKS, STI), and am aware that Janet Ewing's husband, George Mathieson was a printer and died in Lennoxtown, Campsie Parish in 1845. Do son Alexander's memoirs shed any light on his father's life, parentage, place of birth etc? I've got no other info on George other than the OPR info on his marriage to Janet and the births of their 8 children, and a snippet from Campsie Parish MIs that he died on 7 Mar 1845 aged 81 and as a church elder for many years. However, I have seen Janet's Death Cert, and it gives her parents as Peter Ewing, farmer (dec), & Janet Rodger (dec). I've found a bit on Keppoch but the only Cloddach I can find is in Moray. Has anyone come across a Cloddach in Dunbartonshire? > > Pam > New Zealand > > > ============================== > Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the > areas they lived.
