They were asked if they wanted to take part, but declined. The worthy LDS will benefit from our project because it is they who lend us the film, and we are required to give them a copy of our transcription as parishes are completed. This is a searchable database rather than an index, and the search engine will be going 'live' soon - it is being 'beta-tested' at the moment. I now have 12 county co-ordinators who have their own teams, and another 12 individuals doing parishes of their choice. It is fascinating work and we welcome anyone else who wishes to join us. The whole project will take a long time to do, as you can imagine. We have a long way to go to catch up with Free BMD in England. That has been a great success - a pity we can't do it for Scotland!
