Ann Kirk and I were able to expand our trees here a while back <waves at Ann in Oz> Since then we met another lady in Australia with similar interests, though not closely the HORN connection. I do there there are HORN folk in Aberdeenshire also. I have not extended the HORN line in my tree because quite frankly the HORN, ROWAT connection is huge, and tells a sad story of its own when it reaches my father Robert Rowat CHESTER b, 1915 - I have his line as a lateral line back to 1740s too. Your time span looks credible but have you looked for a James HORN, son of James between the marriage of James HORN b. 1787 - (say) 1810 and his son Alexander 1817?. Worth looking for I think because I found naming patterns were applied. Worth also looking for a Margaret someone as being James' wife. There was more than one incident of cousin marriages and illegitimacy in those lines. hth Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janet MacDonald" <[email protected]> > The earliest I have is James Horn b. c. 1787, his son Alexander (b. 1817) > was my g-g grandfather.
