I have noticed the same names recurring; at least 3 generations of Alexanders (father to son), so very possible that James will recur also. Not sure where you are, other than your address is in the UK. From my research I know that some migrated to Australia - waves again at cousin Ann Kirk - and some into Canada. Mine however stayed here and went forth and multiplied and that was how my paternal grandmother found her man. As it happened he was a Butler in Kirkintilloch - I will look out the further details - and she was the daughter of the Harbourmaster of Tobermory Mull. Can you not imagine how these two conducted their romancing. I can.. There are a number of Alexander Rowat males, and one or two or more of them into business. Hope we can make a match somewhere.
