    2. When I read the dates in a church register on which the banns were announced, which of those dates is actually considered the wedding date. The final one? Also, in some 1700s register listings I was reading lately from Scotland, a statement that the couple had "given up their names" was given followed by a date, then a curliqued word (always the same) that looked something like Extra and another date. Can anyone enlighten me as to which date was the wedding date and what the Extra word might have been?
