Hi Tammy, If your ancestors died in Old Kilpatrick in the 1860's then they are probably buried in Old Kilparick Cemetery. I can't find any 'McTurk' references in the Dunbartonshire MI's however but, as the MI's are mainly pre-1855, it is possible that there may be a headstone. The cemetery records held by West Dunbartonshire Council for Old Kilpatrick don't commence until the early 1870's I believe, so I don't think you are going to have much luck there either. Incidentally, I have recently added to my web page the index of all the MI's for Dunbartonshire but I haven't yet added the name of the cemetery or the relevant inscription. If anyone sees a name they are interested in then I will provide a transcript of the inscription. Please be specific however, I won't take too kindly to anyone requesting transcripts of 'all the Smith entries'!! I also hope to add the Poor Relief applications for the County by the middle of the year. It seems that all the available records are for applications made in Bonhill and Old Kilpatrick only. Cardross applications I believe exist but are unindexed. I don't know about the remaining parishes but intend asking at the National Archives of Scotland in Edinburgh to see if they can be traced. They can be a very valuable source and, if they do exist, must be found!!!
