In every bit of data I have found in genealogy data for my ancestors in Scotland, it is stated that my 7xg grandfather was born in Dumbarton, Perthshire, Scotland, lived, married and had 7 children while he was the Pastor of the New Kilpatrick Parish of Perthshire, Scotland, and that he was executed in January 1692 for refusing to sign an oath to the Jacabites in Glasgow, Pershire, Scotland. According to the present day Scotland Web Site, New Kilpatrick Parish and Glasgow are located in Dunbartonshire, Scotland. Were these places ever located in Perthshire County in ancient times?
