Years ago we went to Renton and walked through the churchyard at Millburn. We found the church closed and many of the tombstones were vandalized. Some tombstones were broken off and were leaning against the wall. It was impossible to know who had been buried where. We weren't able to find my husband's great grandfather's grave. I'm looking for James Douglass christened 5 May 1755 in Coldingham. He married Mary Wallace(Christened on 8 June 1755 in Hutton) on 30 May 1777. Not sure where...possibly Renton??? He was a blacksmith in Renton and had 8 children (think they were all born there and I'm assuming James and Mary died there). My 2nd question: Does anyone have a picture of the blacksmith shop in Renton between 1777-1800? Any other pics of the town during this time period?
