It actually looks much better in the pics than I was imagining - I think I was picturing a slum type area. three of my anscestors lived in main street - the bells, mcraes and fergusons. It is a shame that when I eventually get to go there it doesn't sound like there will be much old stuff left. My anscestors moved to derbyshire to continuye working in the calico industy and bonhill actually reminds me of whaley bridge where my gran went to live and my dad was born thanks again gill
