I am afraid that I am not sure how to use this site, to date I have just been "listening". However, I am going to Dumbarton and Renton next month and will have a bit of time to try and find the gravestones of Shankland and Brown families and gather some background material. If some one can give me some direction with my following questions, it would be greatly appreciated. > > John Shankland, (my ancestor) died in Dumbarton in 1913 in an accident at the Lennox Cooperative Society Bakery. He was protestant, where may he have been buried? Where might I find some background on the bakery? > > John Davie Brown (my other ancestor) died 23 February 1924, and is buried in the Milburn Churchyard in Renton.
